Karen Ward, Managing Director and the EMEA Chief Market Strategist, J.P. Morgan Asset Management
Karen brings extensive experience in economic and financial analysis, as well as public policymaking. Before joining J.P. Morgan in 2017, Karen served as the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers for the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, where she provided advice on macroeconomic issues, including fiscal strategy and Brexit. Prior to that, she spent a decade at HSBC’s investment bank, holding various positions, including Chief European Economist. Her career began at the Bank of England, where she supported the Monetary Policy Committee with analytical work.
In 2023, Karen was a member of the UK Government’s Economic Advisory Council and has been recognised as one of Financial News’s ‘100 Most Influential Women in European Finance’ every year since 2020. She is currently a member of the UK Office for Budget Responsibility’s Advisory Council and serves as a director for the JPMAM UK Ltd board.
Karen holds a Master’s degree with Distinction in Economics from University College London.
